The golden rule in the Bible goes, ”Do unto others what you want them to do unto you.” What we do in this world does not merely affect us alone, but it causes what can be called a “Ripple Effect.”

Stillwater, when disturbed by a single prod, will cause ripples to manifest outwardly. What we do is like a small prod that will have a massive outward manifestation. It either builds us up or knocks us down.

Some things we can ripple. Good deeds is on top of the list. A major candidate. We all deserve a little help but it would be nice if we could provide the help that others need. Different people, different strengths. We all need to be assisted in some way, as nobody is perfect.

God has made us this way so that we would undergo the process of refinement. Even He did not make this world alone, but uses His servants and children to aid Him in His glorious purposes.

What you give will always come back to you. And thus saith the scripture, “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”(Matthew 7:12)

Treating another person the way you would want to be treated is another way of putting the two most valuable laws together, which is to love God and to love thy neighbor.

We can ask ourselves, “If I were in their shoes, what would I want other people to do for me?” And the blessings are real as they come to those who have tried to follow this counsel from God. Even if the fullness of the blessings are not received in this life, they will have so much more in the world to come.
