Timing is everything. When God says, “now”, Deborah gives the signal. Today is the day of deliverance. Barak’s complete obedience led his force down the mountain to meet the enemy. In Judges 4:14-16, it stated:

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day the Lord has given Sisera into your hands. Has not the Lord gone ahead of you?” So Barak went down Mount Tabor, with ten thousand men following him. At Barak’s advance, the Lord routed Sisera and all his chariots and army by the sword, and Sisera got down from his chariot and fled on foot. Barak pursued the chariots and army as far as Harosheth Haggoyim, and all Sisera’s troops fell by the sword; not a man was left.

Barak’s victory over their enemy was overwhelming. They won because they surrendered to the Lord and showed complete obedience to His timing. It was not about their fighting skill but God was the one who fought for them in the battle against Sisera’s forces. Their enemies were confused and destroyed. God sent flash floods which made the chariots useless during their battle.

Proper timing is everything. There is proper timing in everything that we do. God allows things to happen according to His timing. When we follow God’s timing, everything is perfect. As Christians, God wants us to rely on His timing. When we pray, we trust God that He is going to give us what we ask based on His timing. God wants us to have patience. He wants us to trust Him more and more.
