Spiritual Gifts Be a Postman

Believers that have the gift of knowledge are like messengers of God

Thus, they adopt the attitude of a postman. People with this gift are tasked to pass on to people information from the Holy Spirit, which is intended for them to know for that specific time.

A postman is employed to deliver a message to pre-appointed people. He is tasked to take the message whose name appears on the envelope or package. The message is not from the postman. It is from the sender. The lifestyle, attitude, obedience, faith, or righteousness of the receiver is not the postman’s concern. The job of the postman is to deliver the message. The postman must not be careless and leave his realm of authority by judging the receiver or sending a letter that is beyond what the sender is sending. Moreover, it is the postman’s responsibility to deliver the message on time and not cause any delay to the receipt of the message. Moreover, the postman must not deliver the message to the wrong person.

In the same way, the believer with the gift of words of knowledge must recognize that the sender is God. The Holy Spirit employed these believers to deliver the message to a certain person. Thus, the message is not theirs. The believers are just the delivery person. There is a need to be under the authority and prompting of the Holy Spirit and to do just as the He asks, no more and no less. In this way, the message (Word of Knowledge) is sent to the right person at the right time. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, the source of knowledge (John 14:15-17; John 15:26; John 16:13-15).

We must not try to interfere with the process of the Holy Spirit. We do not decide to which person the message is for based from our own intellect. Only the Holy Spirit determines this. If the people will not receive the message, it is not the postman’s fault. It is the Sender’s problem. The Sender will be the one who will deal with the Receiver. Let go. Be God and let Him handle believers who reject the words of knowledge that were supposed to be for them.

One of the most significant aspects for developing this gift is to have a good devotional life. Seeking God, building a relationship with Jesus, and allowing the Holy Spirit to lead your devotional life can achieve this. Through prayer and studying the Word of God, you can strengthen your knowledge and relationship with Christ. There is a need to take the time to recognize the voice of God when He is speaking. If one does not know the voice of God, then we will not be able to respond to Him when He calls us.
